  The effect of hemodialysis on T cell immunomodulation during sepsis.
  
  Sepsis survivors often experience long-term negative effects and have greater risk of long-term mortality. There is increasing recognition that a state of impaired immunity (late immunosuppressive stage) follows the initial hyperinflammatory phase of sepsis. The focus is to further develop a preclinical in-vivo hemodialysis research model that allows us to directly assess the effects of the dialysis procedure on microcirculatory function during sepsis and how this affects T-cell immunity often seen following a severe inflammatory response.
